Salt Lake (Alyki)
Larnaca Salt Lake is a significant Ramsar and Natura 2000 site and is home to migrating birds, including thousands of flamingos that stay between November and March.

Throughout the Middle Ages salt was one of the primary export commodities of Cyprus. The harvest and selling of salt was controlled by the authorities until 1986 where the last harvest of salt took place.

Recommended for spectacular photo shootings by the sunset.
